Astrid Viviana Rodríguez holds a Ph.D. in “Diversity and Socio-Educational Development” from the University of Valladolid (Spain), validated by the Ministry of National Education (Colombia). She has Post-doctorate studies at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Florianópolis, Brazil), with the research entitled “Management and impact of Virtual and Distance Education in Colombia, perspectives and realities of Higher Education, a case study of the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios”.
She is part of the Education Department of the Ministry of National Education (Colombia). She is also Director of the Master’s Degree in Education at UNIMINUTO. Moreover, she served as Academic Vice-Rector of UNIMINUTO Virtual and Distance from 2012-2018. Meanwhile, she was a teacher, researcher, and tutor in the Research and Communication field, especially postgraduate studies.
As Social Communicator, she is a Journalist specialized in research, administration, and management. IGLUISTA since 2013, she was a manager of strategic projects that potentiate Virtual and Distance Education in Colombia. In particular, she managed the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios, UNIMINUTO. Her management method was based on adaptive leadership that promotes the development of Virtual and Distance Education. She achieved this through teamwork, continuous responsibility, permanent dialogue, and agreement based on the purposes of the Institution.
